Bloom's Day

This is REALLY brave: SFMOMA, one of the country’s better museums (and technologically most forward-thinking), is going to be showing off on Tumblr each week the art other people have submitted to it.

I’m sure there’s already a lot of fabulous stuff coming in, which no doubt has encouraged this new venture. But I can’t help thinking it’s going to be a little, tiny bit like the guy I knew 20 years ago who was a senior exec on America’s Funniest Home Videos. Some submissions were pure gold, some submissions were …some other material of dramatically lower value (as in, “I’ll never get that 3 minutes of my life back.”)

We’re trying something new: Submission Fridays! We get a ton of really great original artwork submitted to our Tumblr, and we’d like to share more of it. SO, now we’ll be taking some time on Fridays to share a few of our favorite submitted works from the past week. Thanks to everyone who makes great art and shares it with us!
